Hi,

I need to display my videos for a single category only in a module position. Is this possible? I have looked at the latest video module but it doesn't give me the option to do this. Is there a separate module/application that would allow me to do this?

Kind regards

Hi Melanie,

please edit:
/modules/mod_community_videos/mod_community_videos.php
at line 34, change the code from

$videosfilter = array(
    'published' => 1,
    'status' => 'ready',
    'permissions' => $permissions,
    'or_group_privacy' => 0,
    'limit' => $limitCount
);
to
$videosfilter = array(
    'category_id' => 2,
    'published' => 1,
    'status' => 'ready',
    'permissions' => $permissions,
    'or_group_privacy' => 0,
    'limit' => $limitCount
);

and changing the value for category_id with what you need.

Hi Albertus,

that is exactly what I want, however I only want to do it for one module, so I basically need to be able to set the category in the module's parameters so I can still have a Latest Videos from all categories, and then be able to display Latest Videos for a single category if that makes sense.

Is there a way to add this as an option in the module parameters so I can create 2 instances of it?

Hi Albertus,

I am a little closer now to what I want. I basically duplicated the Videos module as follows:

1. Downloaded a copy of Jomsocial and extracted the Videos module.
2. Changed the file you mentioned above
2. Changed all instances of mod_community_videos with mod_community_videos2 within the videos folder
3. Changed module name in MySQL-Extensions from JS Videos to JS Videos2
4. Uploaded as normal Joomla extension

The last bit is the display. I want it to display small videos like in the sidebar modules, at the moment it displays large videos in a single list row. How do I style it like the regular Jomsocial video module?

Kind regards
