this is the response I got from the help desk at my host:

I was able to connect with the provided details just fine. Please make sure your client is using the right credentials without copying any spaces in the password.

Also you can ask him to go to ip.me.uk to see what his IP is and provide it to me so I can make a quick check in the firewall just in case, even though the screen shot provided indicates of a mistaken username/password.

So - can you send me your IP so they can check?
