Registration Error

ISSUE SUMMARY: I get the following error when people click the "REGISTER" button fro Jomsocial.
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/naughtya/public_html/components/com_community/controllers/register.php on line 809

I'm not sure what is happening here. I need help figuring this out.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Go to website
2 click Join now
3 enter information
4 click register.
5
RESULT -- the error code shows up
EXPECTED RESULT it's supposed to go to a page that says check your email or something
