hi
how do i control \ or configure the
modules and plugins such as (groups videos etc)
on the profile side bar like shown in demo.

when i try i can only get them tabbed .

That demo from JF is using old jomsocial version maybe, I suggest you contact to JF social for this one..

well, in our side you cant change the plugins/applications to un-tab, but for modules its possible you can change the module positions to js_side_frontpage_top, js_side_frontpage or js_side_frontpage_bottom
