Greetings Pro's,
I am having an issue that I have never been able to figure out and was hoping someone might explain this to me. If I select a module that is published on my site, www.madd-talent.com , and then go into that module's control settings in the back-end and access the Menu Assignment of that module, then select any of the various module assignments, "Only on Pages Selected" and then select all the pages except all those under Main Menu, the module still shows up even after refreshing. This does the same thing if I select "On All Pages Except Those Selected" as well. I can't seem to get this one particular module at this point to turn off on the index or landing page in particular, "MADD Talent Groups".
This is for this one module, but it's happening to all modules that I try to use this function on. Can you please explain what I am doing wrong and why I can't seem to get these modules to display only on the pages that I want them on and off on all the others?

Thanks,

David

Hi, David.

IF you're trying to assign modules to menu items from JomSocial toolbar then they will never show up as their menu item ID is not used. They inherit menu item ID from parent menu item - in most cases it's JomSocial frontpage/home menu item.

ALSO IF you assign module to JomSocial frontpage/home menu item it will show up on ALL JomSocial pages as - again - they inherit menu item ID from parent element. That's why we introduced buit-in module positions:

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Michal,
It seems to be working the way you suggested. I even created sub-menu's under the Members JomSocial toolbar that will open Alphabetical, Online and newest or latest.

Thanks,

David
