JomSocial Expired

So, I would like to use jomsocial menu only not using joomla's menu. What would be the ideal way to do this. Should I create public profile first? Then I make all members to registered in order to see more? When they login do they see other people stream? if yes is that because that person show to public. What I did I use jomla menu for front page explaining about web site and use jomsocial menu to login for media social. I just want to use jomsocial menu what would be the ideal way. Thanks

HI, Andi.

Please, don't post your question in "Miscellaneous" as other users don't see what your asking for...

JomSocial toolbar (you call it JomSocial menu) is displayed ONLY for logged in users. So having ONLY it on site may confuse users as they will not see any navigation on the first place. But maybe is desired...
You need to have JomSocial frontpage/home menu item in one of menus to give all other menu items in Jomscoaul toolbar proper menu item ID.

So you could create hidden menu - menu that is not assigned to any module, not displayed on site and add JomSocial frontpage menu item there. Then set it as default/start menu item.

You'll have JomSocial as tart page with login form (and registration button).

You may set in Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Layout -> Frontpage Activity Stream to display it for Members only.

Also you'll need to set privacy of all JomSocial parts to members only: Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Privacy

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Michal,
I didnt know I was in Miscellaneous post, believe me if I knew this would make you happy I would've avoided it.
What I would like to do just like facebook login. When people login they will see the first page of the what the website all about.
I will try your suggestion first see if I understood you.
