Restrict access to certain usergroups?

Hi there, we have lots of "Registered" users on our site who are customers. We want to set up JomSocial for our employees only to use, so we put the employees all in a different usergroup and set the Joomla menu items for JomSocial to that group. However, the Registered users still show up in various places in JomSocial and it's very confusing, since there are a lot more customers than there are employees. Is there a way to tell JomSocial that only certain usergroups can be included?

HI Megan,

I am sorry, currently dont have the specific functions for that, seems you should integrate with ACL. Well, but you can try to user 3rd party component like JSPT, I am not sure it will fit with your needs, but you can try it.

thank you

I did talk to the JSPT developers and they said it should be able to do this. They finally released a version that works with JomSocial 4.x a few days ago: www.readybytes.net/jomsocial-profile-type/downloads.html
