JomSocial Expired Socialize Expired

Just upgraded to JS4 and I am interested in adding additional custom module positions to certain JS pages but have the following questions:

1. Does this code snippet apply to JS4? <?php $this->renderModules( 'yourModulePositionName' ); ?>

2. Where exactly would I need to put this code for the following pages:

  • Frontpage
  • Profile Page
  • Groups Page
  • Events Page

Hi, Jared.

1. Yes, I confirm, this snippet will work.

2. Now we have different layouts structure co overrides are done in a bit different way. But it's more clear now.
It look like this:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/frontpage

And there is a file called base.php

This file displays whole page template.
So it will be enough to customize that file. There are two main divs: joms-sidebar and joms-main. If you want to have your position at left - add it in joms-sidebar div.

And this solution is common for all layouts.

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/frontpage
ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/profile
ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/groups
ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/events

To do override you need to copy certain folder to get this structure;

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community/layouts/frontpage

And for files that are outside folder:

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community/layouts/
