need to change the options order in dropdown list

Hello,

When JomSocial offers you the list to chose your country, I would like put at the beggining the top 10 countries my users come from. Could anyone explain me how to do it?

Hi, Pablo.

(WARNING! Core file hack! Please, make safe copy of edited file. It means also that this file will be overwritten during upgrade, so please make a safe copy of customized file as well. Some core hacks could not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported)

Edit this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/libraries/fields/country.php

and comment line 75 like this:

//uksort($countriesSorted, 'CStringHelper::compareAscii');

Now edit file: ROOT/components/com_community/libraries/fields/countries.xml

and reorder items inside eg. copy

<country>
<name>COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_NAME_ANDORRA</name>
<code>COM_COMMUNITY_LANG_CODE_AD</code>
</country>

To the top of the list, right after <countries>.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
