ajax popups not working in all browsers

HI, I am running the jomsocial 3.2.1.5 (currently latest) and have some problems with the popups for adding friends and sending private messages.

In Chrome on my mac it works fine, but in safari the popups are blank. Many users are complaining about it so I have set up a form where they can submit an error report (and so i can see their user agent)

I would expect jomsocial to be crossbrowser... hopefully you can help me troubleshoot the error?

I need to login to your site backend but my access rights are insufficient...

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

sorry about that, i set it as superuser but then joomla griped that the pw was too simple, so i changed that and lost the group setting... it is fixed now so you have access :-)

Could you do safe copy of your changes and roll back to original files?
Then please check if issue persist.

I have replaced those files with the originals. I am wondering why it still says that
/components/com_community/templates/default/modules/profile/userinfo.php is modified even though i have replaced it with original...

anyway the error is persisting :(

Hi Tomas,

please check it, I put the fix already. the issue related with joomla configuration, your put

$live_site = 'https://yoursite.domain';
so all ajax request will using https. the browser will blocking it because https request from non https page. to prevent that, live_site value must empty. so all ajax request will follow current page protocol (https or http).

A new error was discovered... as on the image, when searching for a user, no results are displayed.

that popup only search for a friends. you cant search for the users that not as your friends yet.

Hi Tomas,

its not possible. you need to changing lots of jomsocial core code.
that popup only search for a friends, this is by design.
