Hi,
How can I turn off these modules/plugins ?

I can't find them anywhere ? I remember turning them on, but now can't seem to locate where that was.

Thank you
J.

Hi Joel,

here the steps ( documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Customizing_Template ):
1. copy /components/com_community/templates/default/events.index.php to /templates/rt_stratos/html/com_community/
2. edit it, around line 28. you can see this code

<div class="span4">
	<div class="cSidebar">
		<!-- START nearby event search -->
		<?php echo $this->view('events')->modEventNearby(); ?>
		<!-- Categories -->
		<?php
		if ( $index && $handler->showCategories() ) :
			echo $this->view('events')->modEventCategories($category, $categories);
		endif;
		?>
		<!-- START event calendar -->
		<?php echo $this->view('events')->modEventCalendar(); ?>
	</div>
</div>

to remove single module you can delete
<?php echo $this->view('events')->[something](); ?>

Regards,
Albert

Hi,
Can you confirm that the only way to turn those modules off is with code customization please.

I was sure that they were not on previously and that I tunred them on some how - although `i could be mistaken.

If this is the only way - will I have to update these pages each time there is an update to Jomsocial ?

Thanks
J.

Hi Joel,

yes, you need code customization for that. with that customization via override, that a proper way to do this. so at update, you will not lost any customization. because you using override, the files at frontend template it self.

Albert
