Modules "Members" and "Photos" not showing data correctly

On my community, module "Members" is showing latest members but they are not sorted well, they are kinda mixed...the same thing is with photos in module "Photos". How can I fix this?

How can I edit modules "Friends" and "Groups" on the profile page, change the size of avatars and number of items showed?

Hi, Drazen.

Could you explain what you mean by "kinda mixed"?
Please, provide us proper description of your issue. How it can be replicated or seen? What is expected result?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

On the right site of main page there is module "Members", on the option "Newest" it should show newest members sorted as the first is the one that is last registered. But it isn't like that. Module is showing the latest members, but they are not sorted well. Try to refresh page and every time you refresh, sort is different.

Hi, Drazen.

That is correct - this is expected behavior. Refresh your page and you'll notice that order will change again. This module loads certain number of avatars from recently registered users pool.

Module doesn't sort avatars from most recent to latest newest members but loads them randomly.

It works the same way on my test site: www.prolusatia.nazwa.pl/test/
After you refresh page you'll see that avatar with duck is displayed on random position.

How can I edit modules "Friends" and "Groups" on the profile page, change the size of avatars and number of items showed?

11 years 10 months ago
Licenses:

Hi, Drazen.

Just edit module in backend. Community - Members Module -> Default members value. But this is only maximum number of avatar displayed. If your latest members (registered in certain amount of time) are less than 20, then module will display that lower number.

The same goes fro Community - Groups Module -> Default groups value.

Size of avatars in modules is fluid. It will take 100% of width of container. So if you want to make them smaller you need to use smaller container. Smaller container = more columns. Please, read those topics:

Ok, but I am talking about modules "Friends" and "Groups" on profile pages and I can't see those modules in backend.

Hi, Drazen.

These are not modules but built-in boxes. Code for them is here:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/profile.friends.php
ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/profile.groups.php

You can also set height using some css, just define width and height for those classes:

#community-wrap .cThumbsList .cAvatar

You may also definitely change size of avatar modifying size here:

ROOT/components/com_community/defines.community.php
define('COMMUNITY_SMALL_AVATAR_WIDTH', 64);

But remember that this file will be overwritten during upgrade.

How can I define number of friends and groups in those boxes, sorry I am not so good in coding.

11 years 10 months ago

Hi, Drazen.

In file: ROOT/components/com_community/defines.community.php
define('PROFILE_MAX_FRIEND_LIMIT', 24);

Change 24 to any number you like.

As for group, they will be displayed all

Groups box is showing only 12 groups

11 years 10 months ago
Licenses:

Hi, Drazen.

Ok, I've checked.There is setting inside file:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/profile.groups.php

In line 27 you have:

for($i = 0; ($i < 12) && ($i < count($groups)); $i++)

Change 12 to number that will fit your needs.
