Message functionality, limiting sending messages dependant on user type
I have three types of users. I now need to modify user to user messages.
Type 1, free none subscription user. Only able to recieve messages and reply to messages instigated by type 3 users.
Type 2, free none subscription user. Only able to recieve messages and reply to messages instigated by type 3 users.
Type 3, subscription users. Able to send and recieve messages to type 1 or 2 users.
I want type one and two users to be only able to recieve messages and reply to messages instigated by type 3 users. They will be unable to start off a message to any other users.
Is this possible? I know I could be able to remove the messaging function all together but I still need type 1 and 2 users to have the ability to reply to messages sentfrom type 3 users.
Just so you know, later in development I will put type 3 users on a subscription, I may limit their messages depending on their payplan.
No this is not possible out of the box. You'll need to hack core files and hire a developer to implement this feature to your system.

By aware that this will be a huge change so many core files will be hacked. Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.
