Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
I'm having trouble configuring JomSocial to allow my profiles to be public. Even when I have the memberlist as a public menu item, when I click on someone from that list, I'm required to login. I have reset all user privacy settings to be public. I've even logged in as me/admin to manually set my privacy settings as public.
I saw that you made the My Account menu item public. A couple of things...
1. I would like to not have to have an un-needed public menu item to make profiles visible.
2. It didn't work. I get the error "You do not have permission to view this resource. Please contact the Site Administrator."
3. I tried to change it myself. I went to My Account and the option to change the 'supported domain' was greyed out.
1. That is default behavior, if you want to make profile detail can be viewed by guest you need change the profile menu as public as well.
2. your domain already changed, please check.
Thank you for your response and education. Although, the root problem still has not been resolved. The public still cannot view profiles. Can you help me resolve this? Are there any details that I can provide you with that could help this?
It seems as if you are speaking known fixes instead of helping me fix my problem.
I changed it back to Registered after it didn't work the first time, since having unwanted menu items out there, while it still didn't work seemed unreasonable. I've changed it back to public, so that you can see that it is, in fact public, and it still does not work. I've taken a picture of the error this time instead of typing it.
I'm sure this is something simple that you can figure out that I'm just missing. Please stay with this until you are able to see a JomSocial profile, on my site, as a Public guest.
That link is your own profile (after login, of course you cant open it) I need the another user profile, usually the link will be like this index.php?option=com_community&view=profile&Itemid=191&userId=xxxx
