I have added a link to the JomSocial Toolbar called "Create a Sales Page".
In the links access level group I have it set to "Service Provider".
When I log-in as a service provider, I do not see the link.
When I change the access level to public, I can see the link.
So as I am still logged in as a "Service Provider" and have previously given permissions for a "Service Provider" to be able to create/edit and delete content, When I click on the link (that has been changed to public, just for testing purposes)
I get this error: 403 You are not authorized to view this resource.

This ACL stuff has my head spinning. Any help to get me back on track is greatly appreciated!

Hi, Robert.

We have TWO issues here (let me start from the end):

2. 403 when click on Public link: this was caused by your setting for group "Service Provider" as you created it under "Public" group. Editing or adding articles is restricted to only "Registered" users. So I moved your group under "Registered" category and when link is public it loads without issues.

1. JomSocial toolbar is a special kind of menu as it is used by JomSocial to internal component communication. It will not behave as ordinary Joomla! menu. You can't set a special group for certain menu item here as it will be not available. Also settings ;like "Registered" will not work.

So if you want to have menu item visible only for certain group - you need to place it to ordinary joomla! menu... just like your main menu.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hello, well since the jomsocial toolbar will not behave like a "normal" joomla menu, I will take your advice to create a menu in a module which is only available to service providers.

Which brings me around to my problem. Before you moved the Service Provider group from pubic to Registered child, I had an events link only service providers could see. When I reverted the service provider group back to being a child of public group, the create a sales page link remained and the events (creation) link is no longer there!

I would like this back to where it was working but don't know why it is not?! I cleared my joomla cache, I cleared my browsers cache.. still no luck.

Odd, even in the screenshot I provided I see the event link is gone :( so it happened prior to the group change, sorry about that.
There is another link to create event, so I am not so worried about this issue.

Thank you,
Robert
