Yes it can be caused by your setting of cronjob, please you setup properly, because the email invitation will be sent via cron job.

We can set up by ourselves. It works now.

What is the Job Frequency suggest?

Up to 2/minute? Is it too often?

It seems it affects the reponse of our site and our site becomes a bit slow.

We saw it on cronless.com/

After we set up it and we found the activities do not show on the homepage (before login)

There are more activities after we login.

If your website load is very huge, I suggest you run it each 15mnts, but that is depend to you less time is better.. you right the cron job will effected to your website performance, cronless is the 3rd party services for cron job task that is one of the solution, you can use it if you dont know how to use cron in cpanel.
