Hi,

I have 3 questions/issues with regards to the search functionality in JomSocial. I am trying to set up the advanced search on the front page.

1. Can I display the advanced search on the front page without first having to click on the link below the quick search module? (see attached screen shot).

2. I need to be able to search for not only the fields within the multiple profiles but the actual profile names as well. Is this possible?

3. I also need to limit the fields that appear in the advanced search so not all the profile fields display as options

Thanks for your help.

Hi, Max.

1. If you mean that you want Advanced search options displayed in module then no. Yo can display them out-of-the-box. You'll need developer help to rebuild this module: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

2. Search is performed for ALL available fields marked as a Searchable in backend (Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Profiles -> Customize profile -> Searchable column.

3. Then mark them as a not-searchable in backend

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
