Let's start with the plugin text wording.
Community - Events
No events Created or attended by the user yet.
Now that's not quite true as I did create an Event but was unable to attend myself so why would it be saying no events created?
A user chooses the option Not attending and is promptly added as attending?
Under the plugin tab it says "...It will display recent events that the user attended"
Is it supposed to be saying - It will display current events the user is attending?
Besides the above, the text the end user is asked to read and understand should be directed at them.
For example assuming my guess about the meaning of the functionality of the plugin is correct wouldn't it be be pertinent to say something like this:
Events App. This app displays all your current events which you'll be attending.
Anyway as it is now I find it confusing and possibly misleading.
Here's some screen dumps for you to look at.
Hi, Martyn.
I'm sorry but I can't confirm that issue.
Here you can see I wasn't attending any event:
prntscr.com/3owgpu
And here I created an event:
prntscr.com/3owgvy
So as you see My Events plugin box was populated by event I recently created.
Please, try as a common user.
And again, I joined event created by other user and number of event attendee was updated.
I don't see on activity stream actions you depicted on print screen...
I too can't see it on the site, but the screen dumps are proof that it did happen and was there. The strange thing is I'd carried out some edits in another area of Jomsocial which have also disappeared. My guess is something has been rolled back or overwritten and it wasn't me. It's a development site and these things can happen I guess when we are more than one working on it at the same time.
Anyway there's no point dwelling over that as we need to move on and I'll attend it later. In the meantime as you can see from the screen dumps there's an issue and maybe you can look for it in your own test lab environment.
I do have a terminal where I can make a video of the chain of events leading up to this issue. However, ramping up the level of feedback is an enormous burden on me in time and concentration.
Like others I too want to be obliging but the need to concentrate on our core business is paramount.
Now for something completely different - a repeat of a specific question that has not been answered yet.
"Events plugin for JomSocial. It will display recent events that the user attended."
Thanks for your help
Hi, Martyn.
Yes, I saw your printscreens... but I wasn't able to replicate it on your and mine installation.
Also I didn't delete anything that wasn't created by me...
So please, try again to replicate it...
Maybe it was kind of "king of the glitch"? :)
As you probably know English is not my native language :) So I'm not sure if text form is correct or not. I asked about it another staff member that was English teacher... so I replied as soon he answer me :)
Hi again.
If you think that text should be changed - please use Joomla! language feature to change it:

No, thanks for clarifying that. It's a development site so it could be anyone or noone :)

Yep, I'll do that...

Yes maybe:)

Yes that's a good tool. However, I need to know the true meaning of the texts to be able to change them. I await your colleague and previous English teachers corrections and eventual comments.
Thanks.
Hi Peter,
I looked at your post and the images you show. I can see how this is happening.
The event plugin and event module do not use ajax to dynamically update so if you go to an event and change the status to attending then it will only update the plugin or module when the page is refreshed. This is something that we are not planning to update at the moment but you can add it to
uservoice.jomsocial.com/
if you wish then it will go through the process for future updates.
The plugin description is wrong it should say" Show upcoming and current events" I will have this changed.
Hi Paul, Thanks for the explanation. What you've described is a bug and should surely be added there.
I'm happy to have been of service in bringing to your attention the incorrect events plugin text and that you're dealing with it.
I'd like to point out that other plugin texts are also incorrect. Instead of me having to submit tickets for each of these may I suggest you have them proofread and corrected appropriately.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply i will look at all the modules and plugins and check they are the correct descriptions. I will discuss again with the developers regarding the modules not updating by ajax
Have a great day.
