we develop plugin for JomSocial.
Since the new version of JomSocial we have problem with the translation of the title of the plugin.

Can you provide us a example of plugin or tell us where to specify the translation for the plugin name , which appear in the profile.
What is the name of the language file you are trying to load for each plugin?

Thanks

Hi Cheryl,
I am a bit in dark about the requirement.
Can you come with some specifications?
Are you customizing any our existing plugins?
Thanks

As you can see on the picture.
The name is in upper case and it is the ini name string. It seems JomSocial is looking for a specific string.

My question is where do we need to specify this string? In what ini file, where this ini file should be located.

Hi Cheryl,
Sorry for the delay.
It seems you are building such plugins which will render under with activity stream.
Have you tried to place the string at root/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_community.ini
Thanks

Yes you are correct if I put the string into root/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_community.ini it works.
The problem is that this is a 3rd party JomSocial plugin , so we can't put the string into the com_community.ini since that is the main JomSocial language file.
I would expect that JomSocial load the plugin language file, but it seems it does not or we did not place it at the right place or we did not naem it properly.
That is why I am asking you.
Thank you

Yes I did.
The plugin also worked fine in the older version of JomSocial, but now it does not work any more in the new version.

So my question is simply can you provide me with a sample plugin so I can copy and see what is the difference between the older version of JomSocial and the new one?

Ashraf,

It seems to be so obivous to you. So what about you provide me ONE EXAMPLE.
I do not see any language file in this folder plugins/community/.... an I guess there should be none anything if we follow Joomla standard.
Then in the language/en-GB/ folder there is NO language file for plugin related to JomSocial.
There are only 2 language files related to jomsocial for the component and the country.

I read your documentation I could not find anything related to my question. May be I did not find it.
In the older version of JomSocial the plugin worked WELL. But with the new version it does not work.

Hi Cheryl,
There are lots of plugins at "root/plugins/community/"
and notice the api for loading language file as

JPlugin::loadLanguage('plg_community_walls', JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR);

Hope that help you to guide with.
Thanks
