Hi,

Just wanted to know if the notification icons update on their own or do you have to refresh the page for them to work. I removed the toolbar and used the independent module and it is still the same case. Even after you click to view a notification, the indicator is still on. You have to refresh the page for the counter to go back to zero.

Also, where would I go to change the colour of the notifications? I want to use another colour if there are "0" notifications.

Hi Marcos,

for this jomsocial version, you must refresh the page to get notification update :) we still work for automatic update without refresh the page :)

so you want to change module notify right? you can open modules > mod_notify > style.css and search this code

.notifcount {
	background-color: #3498db;
	color: white;
	text-align: center;
	text-indent: 0;
	padding: 0px 4px;
	-moz-border-radius: 2px;
	-webkit-border-radius: 2px;
	border-radius: 2px;
	font-size:10px;
}

copy the code and paste it below original code and change ".notifcount" into ".zeronotif"
.zeronotif{
	background-color: #000000; <<<< Change value in this section (00000 = black background)
	color: white;
	text-align: center;
	text-indent: 0;
	padding: 0px 4px;
	-moz-border-radius: 2px;
	-webkit-border-radius: 2px;
	border-radius: 2px;
	font-size:10px;
}

and go to modules > mod_notify > tmpl and open default.php file. Go to line 51 and you will see this code :
<span class="notifcount">
	<?php
		if ($newEventInviteCount) {
			echo $newEventInviteCount;
		} else {
			echo "0";
		}
	?>
</span class="notifcount">
This code is notification count for new event invitation. you can changed the code to :
<?php
	if ($newEventInviteCount)
	{
                //THIS CODE IF THERE ARE NOTIF COUNT
	        echo "<span class=notifcount>".$newEventInviteCount."</span class=notifcount>";
	} else {
                //THIS CODE IF NOTHING NOTIF COUNT
		echo "<span class=zeronotif>0</span class=zeronotif>";
	}
?>

just do to the other notif like above step :)

Warm Regards,

David

Why not then just remove the count all together, if the count is zero, then not show anything, wouldn't that be better? Or only show count if >0 ???

You are welcome.

The easiest way was to echo "", but then for some reason when there are notifications, they dont align, but regardless, this works great.
