Facebook Login error

ISSUE SUMMARY: I just purchased Jomsocial and I need the facebook login. I followed all steps required, but when I click on the login with facebook button, it says:

The needed url is not allowed by the configuration of the application. One or more of the given url's are not allowed by the settings of the app. The url must be similar to the website- or canvas url, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the domains of the app.


I translated this error from Dutch into English. I tried to change the url in the Facebook app from www.wegnaarsucces.nl into http//www.wegnaarsucces.nl/meetingpoint (the url of the Jomsocial extension), but no result, same error.

What can be wrong here?

Hope you can help me out, I really need this login!

- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

That mean you missed something... I've tried this tutorial dozens of times. Also many users followed it.
Please, try again, exactly step by step.

You may also post printscreens of your app settings.

I don't see any fault in your settings. I also tested FB login/registration and successfully registered: prntscr.com/78eilc
prntscr.com/78ej0x

Please, some your friends to test it also.

Thnx for your reply. I trie dit again, no result, I kept getting the error. So I asked my friend to logon with facebook. But before she tried, I kept on searching for the solution, in Facebook help pages. And I think I have the solution.

In the app parameters, you need to enter the website url. I entered: www.wegnaarsucces.nl . I read somewhere that the www should not be applied. So I changed the url into: wegnaarsucces.nl .

And this works! Just deleting the www! Now I can register and/or login with Facebook!

Maybe an idea to add this to your tutorial?

That is correct as your site URL is rather wegnaarsucces.nl... I missed that.
