ISSUE SUMMARY:
Got the jomsocial a few days ago. Got it uploaded and everything fine. When doing the facebook connect, got a invalid scope error, went through the support forum and saw another thread for that. Applied the suggested fix that was in that thread which seems to have gotten rid of that error but now I am getting a different error and have not found a thread for that. I went through the tutorials again and can not seem to find my mistake. When trying to login with facebook, I am getting a error, unable to detect facebook login message.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 go to site and click facebook login
2 put in facebook login information and click enter
3 the error message pops up

here the error:
An active access token must be used to query information about the current user

please make sure you using latest API version from facebook. try to recreate API + secret key, and replace it at jomsocial configuration > integration

My facebook api version is v2.2, I have reset and completely redid the facebook app key and secret access and followed the instructions listed in the documentation from jomsocial and still get the same error. No changes at all. It logs me into my facebook but gives me the error on my jomsocial site.

"The most common cause of errors is an authorization problem, such as insufficient privileges or an expired access token"

please recheck you facebook API setting, because facebook made some changes at they API

Ok, I seem to be repeating myself again. Yes I have done all of that. I only bought your software 3 days ago. I followed all the instructions in the jomsocial documentation for facebook setup 3 times now. I even did the facebook connect fix that is listed in the other thread on this forum to fix the invalid scope. I have been dealing with this problem for 3 days now. I bought the software so I could have the support but all we keep doing is repeating ourselves. You keep telling me to check things I have checked over and over again.

I have seen other js sites with the exact error i am getting other than just my site so I am not convinced that it is my facebook setup, I already included screen shots of my facebook backend. I am also not comfortable posting my facebook login in a open forum. Its been over a week with this issue and have not gotten anywhere but looking at facebook over and over. I would like it to work but at this point i feel i am wasting my time which i dont have alot of to waste on this issue. Instead of continuing to spin me around in circles, can we fix this issue? If not I just need to turn it off and wait for the next release. I have to deal with running 8 other sites, this is the only jomsocial one and its the only one that the facebook login doesnt work on.

I need you to debug your facebook app, by using this:
developers.facebook.com/tools/accesstoken/

and give me the result.

I am starting to wonder if the facebook connect is ever going to work. I have deleted my original facebook, made a whole new one, updated jomsocial to 4.08 and now on firefox I get a invalid scope error and if I use google chrome, I get a undefined error. Have had the jomsocial for a few months now and the facebook login has never worked. Can we please come up with a solution for this.

invalid scope issue only happening for facebook App owner. please edit your first post at this topic and update credential information for administrator page login. I need to login to adminstrator page.

and please add me to your facebook App as admin. with my FB username: albertusputra or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I need to have a look by my self for FB App configuration, you can remove me after this issue done.

FYI: for other FB account, they can connected to your site with out any issue.
