Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
ISSUE SUMMARY:
Facebook Connect is not working on my site. When I click the Facebook button, the window pops up that indicates that it is attempting to login and then disappears and no login function takes place. All of our users that connect through Facebook are now unable to login to the site. Need very urgent help. Thanks.
I don't believe it is related to the install issue. I manage another site at
www.venndio.com/app/
that also uses JomSocial and the upgrade process completed successfully on that site. However, the "Facebook Connect" login does not work on that site either since the latest JomSocial upgrade. I believe there is another problem going on. Try going to
www.venndio.com/app/
and clicking the Facebook Connect button and you will see that it fails just the same.
I need for this issue to be resolved ASAP !! I manage 2 websites where the Facebook Connect functionality is not working and users are not able to login using their Facebook accounts. One of the these 2 websites has been upgraded to the very latest version of JomSocial and the other has not. However, both the websites at
www.mysoulrebel.com
and at
www.venndio.com
fail with the Facebook login but work with the Twitter login. This problem is specific to the Facebook login. I need urgent help.
I noticed that you are in the middle of JomSocial upgrade - JomSocial dashboard can't be accessed (upgrade screen is displayed).
So first, please, finish your upgrade.
Also you DON'T use JomSocial native FB login button but JFBConnect.
Please, contact with their developer to fix this issue or:
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Got it. Thanks. That fixed the problem. I disabled JFCB and used the native JomSocial FacebookConnect and made the modifications you referenced above and all is well. Thanks.
