I am trying to submit for permissions at developers.facebook in order to make the Facebook-connect to work. Therefore I have used this documentation and the greatly helpful movie: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Setting_up_Facebook_Connect

The process of requesting for permissions is awfully time consuming and I really need your help with.

1. In the movie there is a list of the permissions which are required. One of them is the "user_activities". I can't find this permission on the facebook-list. Does this permission has a new name?

2. I have submitted the request before and some permissions are being granted. They want step-by-step explanation for each permission why I need these permissions, for what use and where on my website I can see them. I really don't have a clue why FB-connect needs all these permission. It would be great if the documentation would include these descriptions so the users could just copy-paste that instead of going trough the hassle of finding out everything permission. Trust me: The FB-permission request is becoming more difficult and is very time consuming. Adding these explanations along with the great movie it would make the life of many web-admins easier!

3. Having said that [point 2] can you help me with explaining the following permissions. Can you explain to me why FB-connect needs these permissions? And where on the JomSocial pages I can find these so I can include screenshots?
- user_status
- user_education_history
- read_stream
- user_activities

Hi Farid,

1. I am not sure why you dont have "user_activities" option, but that option is showing fine in my FB app, I suggest you contact FB team for that.

2. Actually, the FB connect will work fine even you dont set all permission. Jomsocial only will take public profile, avatar and status and it will be enough by the default FB app permission.. but if you wanna export the jomsocial status to FB timeline, you should submit the submission for that.

3. Well, do a simple thing, if you just wanna do login with FB and wont use another functions you can skip the submission steps. The FBConnect still will work fine.
