My site had become very complicated with members communicating and posting videos via both JomSocial and Kunena. I am considering rebuilding the site with just one of these components but haven't decided which yet. I have copies of my site running on localhost and I'm experimenting with different configurations.
Is it possible to turn off or uninstall JomSocial so that the site is only integrated with Kunena?
If it is, how would I do this?

If you will remove the Jomsocial, it will remove everything that is showing from Jomsocial.
Removing components will remove members, groups, profile everything that is coming from Jomsocial.
You can disable the extension from Joomla Extension Manager > Manage > Search for community/jomsocial > disable all module,plugin component of Jomsocial.
now you will not see Jomsocial,
You can enable it again to see the Jomsocial back.

You can remove the members, groups and profile from Joomla admin > Jomsocial.
to remove the extension you can uninstall it from Joomla > extension > manager > Manager > selection and uninstall it.

Make sure it will remove the configurations you applied on JS, the only database will remain same. When you install it again.
