I am a subscriber of you two years old and during that time I have been facing many problems with jomsocial.
The last ones were after the jomsocial was updated.

- The chat does not work
-The member counter does not work
-The menu with the options has stopped working
 
I would like you to look carefully because I already have many users.

Can you please elaborate how exactly chat isn't working. I will need a little bit more details in order to understand the issue you're facing.

Member counter is showing all your friends, as you set the module to show friends only

And finally, similarly to the chat, try to give more context to the question as i don't really know which one of hundreds of menus with options you referring to
