Every upgrade has gone smoothly, but this latest install gets stuck unpacking frontend files.
This has never happened before, the back end files get unpacked, but it has been stuck for an hour unpacking the front end files.
There are plenty of resources as far as I can tell....plenty of disk space, etc.
Ideas? Thanks!

Hi, Edward.
The issue is caused by server error:
prntscr.com/gzoi92
Please, contact with your hosting provider and ask them about server error log.
Then try to install JomSocial again - it will be interrupted by this error agina but then go to server error log and copy last entries and paste them here.
Error log should tell us what is wrong.
Thank you again for your response.
I tried installing JomSocial again as you suggested and then I looked at the error_log file and there are no new entries.
The last one was a warning several hours ago which was there before I tried the install again.
Other ideas?
Hi, Edward.
Yes, try uninstall all files:
0. Make a safe copy of your whole system (files and database)
1. Browse to Backend -> Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Manage
2. Search all extensions using filter "com"
3. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
4. Search all extensions using filter "jom"
5. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
6. Search all extensions using filter "js"
7. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
8. Download latest JomSocial package from here:
www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses
9. Unzip it
10. Install com_community package via Joomla! installer
11. Follow installation steps
Thanks for your reply!
Interestingly, my development site had no problem with the upgrade.
Will uninstalling all the JomSocial pieces cause us to lose any material? We have quite an active JomSocial community.
Thanks,
Dom
HI, Edward.
NO, database and user files are not touched during installation.
So they should be safe... but safe copy is a must in operations like this ;)
