I see a lot of files
JA Builder / Template / Component / Admin menu module
basically all these JA files available in the MyDownloads area.

I dont want to install them before i know what they do

Those are useful for those that need to quickly build pages (parts) of their joomla site by using graphic interface integrated in admin part of joomla cms. Hope this helps. Not needed for JomSocial.
