This is known issue - already reported this as a bug to our developers.
Edit your password and make sure it DOESN'T contain any special characters like -/# etc. Just use sheer letters and numbers.

Please, check one more thing. Browse to Backend -> Users -> User Manager and check if user you want to log in is assigned to any Joomla! group or if this table cell is empty. I presume that your user still can login to backend.

Hello JC,
I just began to search for a fix for the same problem and found your comments. My problem is similar to yours, after the upgrade I could not login my main super user account to the front end. The back end was fine but I do a lot of activity on my Jomsocial site on the front end. It is only affecting this one super user account as my other super user works just fine.
Is the patch you posted a fix from Jomsocial? I just want to know where it came from.
