I just purchased and installed the Jomsocial and having two issues. They may be related.
1. When pressing submit on registration, it just sits there and does nothing.
2.Logged in to front end as (super user) trying to create a new group. Press submit and it just sits there.

I have gone through all of the php settings and changed them. Siteground support changed a few I was unable to. Made the .htaccess changes I read on troubleshooting on this forum. (Had to unmake some because it broke the site).

Cron email job is setup.



Please help me. I am completely stuck. Really need this up and running today due to a meeting with the stakeholders coming up.

I solved it.

The template. (Mix Web templates MX Joomla 116 ) must h ave some scripts that conflict. The issue goes away with a simpler template.

It may be also other case - check if in template you have enabled JS compression. If yes - disable it.
Script compression may also cause this issue.


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
