ISSUE SUMMARY:
I have been trying 4.3.1 Beta on my website. Today I tried to upgrade to 4.2.6 using the iJoomla installer. The first screen was ok, but then the installer got stuck just before 'create menu items'.

Now I cannot access the front end or the backend! can you help me please? I can give you login access to the server if that help - or please let me know what I can do to fix it.

Many thanks

HI, James.

Thank you for contacting us.
Aha, we have WSOD here ^^.
Connect with your server using FTP client.
Browse to Joomla! main folder.
Look fro configuration.php
Make sure you may edit it ans save (chmod 644).
Change public $error_reporting = 'default'; to public $error_reporting = 'maximum';

Now on blank page you should have error notice. Copy it here.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

I managed to fix it after 7 hours offline...

1) added error logging you suggested
2) renamed the file which caused the error via ftp.
3) admin access restored - reinstalled JomSocial by uploading zipfile - not using installer.
4) problem solved
