When a guest registers to become a user, there is a field for Name, Username, Email Address, Password. I would like to add a Phone Number Field as well. This would not be required to be filled in for registration, but would be there if users wanted to put it in. Any help to get this done? Thanks in advance. Ian

Thank you for contacting us.
Those first fields are Joomla! obligatory fields.
They are user related and there is no option to provide additional fields here.
Please, use JomSocial profiles if you want to store phone number or other similar data.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Ok, well, the main issue is that I want some people to register as a User, and I want some people to be able to register as an Administrator. I thought that if they provide me with a phone number, then I could call them and make sure that they are appropriate for Administration. I don't want phone numbers to be visible on profiles, (only on the back end). How is it possible to have a registration for regular users but also have an option for people to apply to be Administrators? Thanks for your help.

Hi, Ian.

You may set certain profile field to be "Administrator only" so only admins can see it.
Or just use any contact form so regular users could apply to be admins - from will send you an email with user details.
