ISSUE SUMMARY:
I upgraded joomla to latest version recently which broke Jomsocial 3.2.1.4. So I have been forced to update Jomsocial to the latest version. After several issues during upgrading I have now managed to get a working install of Jomsocial 4.2.5.
However, the tabs on the jomsocial front page don't work. They are stuck on Events, and you can't switch to Groups / Members etc.
Chrome developer console shows these errors:
script-1.2.min.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: joms.extend is not a function
community.html:32 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'bind' of undefined
community.html:401 Uncaught TypeError: joms.onStart is not a function
community.html:707 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'bind' of undefined
loader.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'script' of undefined
I have seen other forum posts with the same errors but did not find any solutions.
I am doing this upgrade on the migrate. subdomain, which is a copy of the live www. subdomain, as a test. Once it is working, I will need to replicate the fix with the live site, so whatever you do that makes this work, please tell me so that I can replicate it with the live data.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Visit /about/community.html
2 Try to click on the Groups tab
3 Fail
RESULT
Still on Events tab
EXPECTED RESULT
Go to Groups tab
BROWSER
Chrome & Firefox, probably all
Hi Darren,
This issue caused by module members and module videos, i am sure that module is coming from old Jomsocial version right? because that is not our newest official module, please check that module by yourself, I am sure you modified them :)
For time being, I disabled those modules
cheers!
I have not changed those modules since updating to the latest version of jomsocial using iJoomla. Is there a way of manually updating those modules so they will be the standard latest version?
FYI, I have carried that fix across to the live site and it is working, thank you.
so everything is fine now? if so I will close thisFYI, I have carried that fix across to the live site and it is working, thank you.
No, the tabs that are there are working, but I no longer have tabs for videos or members.

It's possible that something is overriding that module, I inherited this site rather than created it so there's lots I don't know about it. But I haven't changed anything since updating Jomsocial.
Hi Darren,
Please check again, I already update those modules to the latest version..
thank you!
You only need to copy the modules mod_community_videos and mod_community_members to your live server.. or you can download those package from here
