500 error following upgrade to Joomla, Jomsocial and PHP to PHP7
ISSUE SUMMARY: Following an upgrade of Joomla to 3.6 and Jomsocial to 4.2.4 on a box running PHP7 I now get a fatal error when accessing the Jomsocial component in the backend.
The error log was showing:
Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/domain-name/httpdocs/components/com_community/models/community.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/vhosts/domain-name/httpdocs/components/com_community/libraries/core.php on line 656
The file community.php didn't exist in models, so copied it from com_community as suggested in another thread. The error now says:
Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/domain-name/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_community/libraries/apps.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/vhosts/domain-name/httpdocs/components/com_community/models/community.php on line 89
The iJoomla Installer shows installed version 4.2.4 Pro Latest Version 4.2.4 Upgrade Required. When I click on the Upgrade button, it perfoms the upgrade sucessfully, but then errors when it tries to switch the the Component and iJoomla installer says the same thing.
I'm perfoming these updates on a development server which is not accessible outside of the organisation so can't provide access details.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Login to administrator
2 Select JomSocial from Components menu
RESULT HTTP 500
EXPECTED RESULT Jomsocial Admin control panel
BROWSER Internet Explorer 11
It seems like upgrade failed and some files are missing or corrupted.
Please, try to re-install JomSocial.
It would be good idea to remove all files first:
0. Make a safe copy of your whole system (files and database)
1. Browse to Backend -> Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Manage
2. Search all extensions using filter "com"
3. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
4. Search all extensions using filter "jom"
5. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
6. Download latest JomSocial package from here:
www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses
7. Unzip it
8. Install com_community package via Joomla! installer
9. Follow installation steps
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
