Backend JomSocial crash, then entire site crash

ISSUE SUMMARY:
I had the same problem as this:
www.jomsocial.com/community/120469-theod.../profile?actid=16448

I applied the core.php change and got this for ALL pages, front & back end:
Fatal error: Class 'cobject' not found in /[masked]/components/com_community/libraries/core.php on line 1622

I had to revert the core.php file, which reverts back to the original problem:
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/[masked]/components/com_community/models/community.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php56/pear') in /[masked]/components/com_community/libraries/core.php on line 656

Joomla 3.6.0, JomSocial Pro 4.2.4

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 - Upgraded to Joomla 3.6.0
2 - Admin > Components > JomSocial fatal error, rest of site still works
3 - Researched, manually over-installed JomSocial 4.2.4
4 - Crash still exists
5 - Researched, manually applied core.php 'fix'
6 - Entire site broke
7 - reverted core.php, original fatal error returned
RESULT - fatal error
EXPECTED RESULT - site doesn't crash, JomSocial works
BROWSER - Mac FF

Hi Andrew,

I checked your site still using old jomsocial version 4.1.6



So i decided to fix this issue by installing the latest version via ijoomla installer everything is fine then
