ISSUE SUMMARY:
Hi,

Since some time the Global Notification is not working.
Members get a black and a whit empty bar, se photo.

This is only happening to members, not to me as admin.

Have tested it in Safari, Fireworks and Chrome and I get the same result.

Please help us.

I made test account at your site (non admin), there is no issue with notification popup:

Some members have contacted me about it.
Some run on Mac, some on PC.
I myself run on Mac and I have tested it with admin and normal user on my iMac, iPhone and Mac Book Pro with the same problem.
My girlfriend have the same experience on her Mac.
No problems for admin but a lot of users have problem.

You can test it on my testprofil on the site.

seem there is 3rd party extension conflict or any changes by yours at your site, I cant find it. :(
to tackle the issue I put override at:
/templates/socialize/html/com_community/layouts/notification.event.invitations.php

I changed

$row->invitor->getDisplayName()

$user = CFactory::getUser($row->invitor->id);
$user->getDisplayName()
