No, this can't be done. Most of activity in Joomla! is based on user ID.
Guests don't have ID (or rather their ID is 0... for any guest).
So no communication can be made for user ID 0.
Why? Imagine a guest 1 (ID 0) send you a PM.. then... to who do you answer as guest don't have inbox? Or who is a real recipient as all non logged in users have the same ID = 0?
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
do you know of another way to achieve this? Is there an app or mod or plugin that could allow a way for the public to contact members? This can be achieved just like joomla contact form with captcha. public puts message and their email address. member gets message and can see where it came from and reply =)
1. Customize module so it will check current profile Id in db and insert email into recipient field.
2. Assign module to profile page
So it will look like a contact form on profile page.
But sorry, I can't provide you with step by step instruction as this is beyond our technical support. Consider to ask a professional developer for help:
