ISSUE SUMMARY:
Since upgrade to 4.2, all users with special characters in their passwords cannot login. Error message: Login Failure
After special character removed from user password, login does work.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Login using username/password with special character

EXPECTED RESULT
Successful login

BROWSER (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari)

Due Diligence:
1. Got the old login working and tried logging in there (failed)
2. Added bogus address information, and updated password in jomsocial (failed)
3. changed email, then request password update (failed)
4. Changed user groups (Gold/Spring Into Success) ONLY (failed)
5. Added a different password, removing the '$' - THIS WORKED
