ISSUE SUMMARY:
Some users have already posted this issue, but informations are missing. JomSocial does break Kunena! It happens after upgrading the tables.

1 Check kunena component and version (latest 4.0.10 installed)

It should be in Kunena package:

That is not a plugin that can be installed via the Joomla installer. It is copied while Kunena is installed to plugins/kunena/community and consists of these files

My sentence "I think JomSocial database tools break something." was wrong. JomSocial breaks Kunena immediately after upgrading. I did all steps again to reproduce the issues I am having with 4.2. I can solve it myself by re-installing, but something is wrong, so its a bug and should be fixed.
I will have to wait for the next bugfix version anyway, because this update had 3 problems that I posted here of which one is huge (user login not working anymore).
the kunena issue already fixed on our develoment code, but indeed you need to wait the latest package for it, because the patch is under installation code.
regarding issue the user cant login, is that related with special chars issue on your username? can you create another topic, please?
in version 4.2.1, we are on testing phase, if everything fine will be released soon.. hopefully :)
