Hi, Gabriela.

Issue is caused by your site configuration.
When I try to share this URL skylait.com/index.php?option=com_communi...&Itemid=2784&lang=en
What is profile page, FB actually caches this page skylait.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=login&lang=en
It's because profiles are accessible ONLY FOR REGISTERED users.
Thus FB can't access it.
Trying to share restricted content will end with this: i.imgur.com/O3a7lk2.png

So this time it's not JomSocial issue ^^

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

And tell me one think

What have that with sharring?

Who is doing like this?

You know that same is not only related to profiles - try to share one of virtuemart product - that come also by you also

Because your sharing is core file - and was breaked all our content sharing on facebook.

The privacy don`t need to affect sharing - how can we restrict the users to change the status from public to privat or viceversa...

that is not correct!

that is impossibil to be!

be kind and fix that

in this case your sharing was broked all our 3-th party components.

HI, Gabriela.

It seems you don't understand how your site was built.
I explained that in case of profiles - they are restricted to registered users only.

Just try to reach this page (a profile page) without being logged in:
skylait.com/index.php?option=com_communi...&Itemid=2784&lang=en

Facebook can't access restricted page as it acts similar to a user. So restricting access affects also web crawlers. the same goes for e.g Google. Google bots can't access restricted pages this they can't be indexed.

By default we don't restrict any pages in JomSocial so setting was made by you - or by user as user may restrict access to profile and other objects (privacy settings).

When sharing VM product it can be shared as it's accessible:

skylait.com/index.php?option=com_virtuem...1&Itemid=263&lang=en

Here is FB debug of sharing VM product:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/shar...id%3D263%26lang%3Den

JomSocial sharing apply ONLY to JS pages and objects and it's loaded only there. It doesn't affect any other JS un-related pages.

So there is nothing for us to fix - it's up to you how your site is configured. Just unlock access to profiles and other JS related pages if you restricted them.

My advice is that you hire a professional that will review your site... and explain you how things work in Joomla... if you don't trust us.

You can login in - and the shared content will be wrong also

Also you can see vm products - are shared with wrong images.

Hi, Gabriela.

Yes, user can login... but FB web crawler can't.
It's not like when sharing you send content to FN - in a fact is a request to FB web crawler to index certain page.
So web crawler connects certain URL and tries to read Open Graph meta tags.
It works like you'll send a link to your restricted profile to your friend (that has no account on your site).
What happend when she opens the link?
She will be asked to log in.. do she have access no?
Will she see your profile? No as she can't login/access it.

Issue that apply to VM is not our concern - you should contact with your template developer as it provides sharing solution for VM. By default VM doesn't have sharing. When debuging shering VM URL you can see that image is taken from VENDOR not product

skylait.com/images/stories/virtuemart/ve...d/558_maldives_7.jpg

It's because template developer didn't provided og tags for product, this FB crawler fetch what it find : i.imgur.com/lnSvCCh.png
And it looks in available code only.

I also develop VM carts and each time I implement og: tags on my won into VM code.

Just to compare - JomSocial provides on own pages og; tags:
i.prntscr.com/443c8a7707d0490ab32a62c607c460b9.png

When some extensions share pages to FB and don't have og: tags than result may vary.

Fixing the way VM/ your template provide code for sharing is out of scope our technical support - not related with JomSocial in any way.
