ISSUE SUMMARY:
No join now button on home page

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 go to my jomsocial install and there is no button
2 I actually want to start off as an invitation only network; however, I don't have the ability to login to begin playing with features.

Hi,

you need set it at: joomla backend > users > options (top right button), and set Allow User Registration

and you need to set jomsocial as "home" page at joomla backend > menus > main menu
