ISSUE SUMMARY:
After I installed new jomsocial, the main page is broken.

Hi,

you need to setup the modules. please goto joomla modules manager and assign the modules into correct positions.
you can find the positions name at joomla backend > extensions > templates > socialize, layout

installing only first step, the second step you need to setup the modules/templates after that.
