Ive contacted Siteground support regarding me website being slow..
Below you'll see their responds.
We have reviewed your case in details.
Your website loads slowly, because there is huge amount of data and images loaded on your front page. You have a lot of posts that are being loaded there. We would recommend you to decrease the content loaded on your website's front page, since it is a lot and it slows down your whole website.
Your image upload is not working, because your front page can not be loaded properly due to the huge amount of information available on it. The application can not load all JavaScript files required for the image upload function to work correctly.
Your front page has loaded completely after about 16 minutes loading time, which is not normal at all. We would recommend you to contact a jomsocial support who can review the functionality of your website and optimize it.
Ive provided a screen shot of my current plain:
Also I saw in the jomsocial community that DigitalOcean is a good hosting plain.
If I was to switch would the $40 month plan work best to fix this issue and give me the ability to allow video conversion which is a resource eater.
siteground is a shared hosting or dedicated?
if shared, we cant do much. because server performance not good enough for social site.
big data of image files must be faced. because this is social site. not blog.
please increase php memory limit into 1024 and increase MySQL query cache (need to asking server support about the possibility value).
and about DigitalOcean, that could hosting. that hosting is dedicated. but you must be know about Linux administration. you need to install everything by your self.
I was told that I can upgrade my plan to a CLOUD HOSTING plan below are my two options
Would these options work?
Since I don't know anything about Linux administration, would it be a good idea to switch hosting company's and use a developer to set everything up on my behalf? if yes can you recommend one?
We can't recommend developer by name... but you may choose developer from the list here:

Or post a job on freelancers websites.

- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
