Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Not able to create new topic inside of Socialize-Area
unfortunately the url does not work for me. Still not able to create a post.
Here the issue (please see the screenshot). Trying to save modified layout as copy and getting following message "Saving progress is failed. It might cause by file permission". I didn't find any documentation regarding permissions accordion this one case.
Permissions means file access settings like chmod and chown.
Please, check your files using FTP.
Correct chmod for files is 644 for folders 755.
As for chown check what users and groups are allowed to save/create files and folders.
You may contact with your hosting support if you're not sure how to do that.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
thank you. All joomla related file permissions are set correct. All steps described
here
(Socialize 2.1.0 Installation Instructions) were done accurate.
I couldnt find informations regarding additional file/folder-permissions which have to be set. Could you provide please a link with additional informations, if there are such informations existing?
Thank you.
p.s. still unable to create topics in Socialize-Forum. Is there are a problem with my account? If it so, let me know. Thanks.
As for chown you need to contact your hosting provider as this may vary for different hosting.
I asked our forum admin to test why you can't post in Socialzie section.
