Seems you should contact Google Cloud support, you should set those folder writeable, if in linux system you should execute this command via command form :
Yes, it is a Linux system - when I attempt to SSH into the VM I get an error 'no such file or directory'. Example below.
chmod 755 /administrator/components/com_community/
chmod: cannot access ‘/administrator/components/com_community/’: No such file or directory
Are the directory's the same for a bitnami instance of Joomla do you know? Are there any other members who have successfully installed JomSocial on Google Cloud VM?
We havent tried install Jomsocial in google clould but seems it should be same with another server. Can you provide me FTP access, please? I will check it.
I've moved to Bitnami hosted AWS. I am still having the same challenge.
What I learnt was that with Bitnami instances of Joomla they lacked the folders, not simply change permissions. So I ssh'd into the bitnami instance of Joomla (
selfdi-server.bitnamiapp.com/joomla
) and ran the below:
I believe I've created the folders and changed the permissions but when I go back to attempt to install Jomsocial I have the same error, unwritable folders.
I'd love to share access for you to tell me what you think I might be missing in this installation. What is the best way to do that for Joomla running as an application hosted on AWS?
Bit weird.. I need the access to your hosting, if possible you provide me SSH and FTP access as well. Also dont forget to update the Site Info on your first post.
