ISSUE SUMMARY:
I see in a lot of troubleshooting answers, users are told to upgrade the iJoomla installer...

Could you provide the steps to do so please?

Hi,

1. please download lastest version of jomsocial at jomsocial.com > my account
2. unzip downloaded file, and you will found iJoomla installer at there.
3. goto joomla backend > extensions > manage. and upload the file
