ISSUE SUMMARY:
If I import users via a csv file, but the email already exists within the system, how does it handle the new record? Does it ignore it altogether, or overwirte existing details?

that not safe if you using CSV file from phpmyadmin or database manager. please use joomla user tool:

Your response does not make sense. I didn't mention any thing about phpmyadmin or database manager. I understand that Jomsocial now has an ability to import users via a csv file containing first names, last names and email addresses. My question is if I already have someone that has registered on my website via jomsocial, and then they are listed in a csv file that I upload with a whole lot of users I wish to pre-register in Jomsocial - how does the system handle that listing? Does it simply ignore it because they are already have an active jomsocial account on my website?
