I was wondering if it's possible to create a new pay layout that I can use on my site for things outside of the social media side of the site. I would like to create a layout and then use that layout for various things I would like to place on my site. If this is possible, would you mind telling me how I can do this please?

Hi David,

You can do it by creating new article from Joomla content manager, and linked it with the new menu.

Thank you for sharing this with me, but that I can do. What I would like to do is a little different. I would like to have a new page layout that I can use to create other things on my site that are not formatted in the Jomsocial layout that all my pages come with. For instance. With Publisher Pro you can have a different page layout to display all your articles in a new layout format. I would like to finish creating our online newspaper, MADD Talent Times, I would like this to work similar to Publisher Pro with a similar layout, but publisher Pro is not working on my site, so I thought I could just create a layout that would allow me to publish articles on that pages layout. I don't want to have it work exactly like Publisher Pro, because in Publisher Pro, from what I remember, you picked a category then you picked an issue and then the page displayed. I would like to have one menu, MT Times, and when that menu is selected, the MT online magazine is displayed with various articles positioned on that page. I would like Publisher Pro, but simplified to just show the magazine home page with articles on it and not all the sub-pages that viewers need to select to read an article.

I am more than happy to re-purchase Publisher Pro, if it will just work on my site. I don't know if you ever looked at the problem I was having with Publisher Pro, but it would not produce the page when I had it on my site for some reason. All I ever got was black and white segments with nothing in them. I have put that back up on my site so you can look at it if you like. If this package will just work, it's pretty much exactly what I want to add to MADD Talent. I just don't want to purchase it if it's not going to work. JomSocial Tech's looked into this some time ago and could not figure out why it's not working on my site. If you can figure it out and get it to function correctly, I will re-purchase it and won't need to hire someone to do what you Pro's have already done.

What I would like to do actually is go back to using Publisher Pro. However, I would like to make it much simpler on my site. When a member selects the MADD Talent Times menu, I would like the online magazine front page to just open. I don't want them at this point to select an issue and or category to get to the online magazine.
I just want them to select the MADD Talent Times menu button and have tha magazine open and display any one of the layouts it offers to display.
One of the problems is that in order to get to the online magazine page, they first need to select issue and then another sub page. The next problem is much more difficult. For some reason, when I select a layout, the page will not display. All a viewer will see is text in black rectangles. It just will not display correctly.
I will be more than happy to re-purchase this application and pay to keep it updated, but it has to work. JomSocial techs have looked at this but no one seems to know why it's not working. If possible, please look into this to see why it's not working. If you can get this display setting to work, your application Publisher Pro is exactly what I want.

Please let me know what I need to do here,

How are you? I am Alin , we discussed a lot in the past about publisher but I am not sure how things were at that time, I just remember that I set up few times layout on your site and works.

You can just try again with free version and please remember me what was wrong as I remember I was able to set an working layout all the time.

I do recall all that you are talking about. You were able to get 1 or even 2 of the layouts working on my site. I recently asked if there was a way that I could create a layout that would allow me to place modules or articles in different locations to I could mimic what Publisher Pro does. I need to do this as my site needs this online magazine as it's part of what we do. None the less, in talking with the Jomsocial Tech, I just finally told them, I just want JomSocial Publisher Pro to work on my site because all I want to do is exactly what Publisher Pro already does.

What I asked was this:
When a member comes to my site and wants to read MADD Talent Times they need to select the "MADD Talent Times" mene, when the next window pops up, they need to then select Publication, and when the next window pops up, they need to select the issue. So they are selecting multiple times to get to the MADD Talent Times home page that I would just like to look like the CNN Layout or the layout's that are provided with Publisher Pro. All I want my members and visitors to do is click on "MADD Talent Times" and the online periodical is displayed in the working layout. I then asked if this is possible?
I am willing to purchase Publisher Pro and keep my license active as this is one of the main features of our website. I am not worried about the cost, I just need this layout to work. Alin, please look at this and see if you can figure out why this is not working. I really need this application. This is one of the most important aspects of MADD Talent. If I can't do this online magazine with Publisher Pro, I will need to create a custom layout that will allow me to place the various articles I need to get published quickly. NFL season is 1/2 way over.

Hi David,
All you need to do is to create a menuitem to one issue you have built.
Go to Menus - New - Menu Item Type * = Issue page and from Options choose what issue you want shown. That is all, please see attached image, is from our demo menu settings.
