ISSUE SUMMARY:
I upgraded from 2.6.3 today using the iJoomla installer. Works OK, and goes all
the way to 4.1 Pro, but then it proposes to upgrade to 4.1. When I do that however,
it goes through all the install steps, but nothing changes. and in the jos_community_config
table, the dbversion always stays on 12.
when I manually try to install the JS package downloaded today, the same thing
happens.
any ideas?
Hi,
Ignore that section, seems the developer not use it anymore... just please make sure your the version Jomsocial backend is 4.1 :)
anyway, I really suggest you upgrade your Joomla to the latest Joomla version, you are still using the old one.
thank you
Thanks, but like I said, the manual package install for JomSocial has the same result. I get only one admin menu item for JomSocial, and when I click on it, I get to the installer (see screenshot). I can then go through the installer 1 time or 10 times, without errors, but nothing changes...
When I click on 'Done' in the last screenshot, I get back to the first screenshot.
seems the file admnistrator/components/com_community/installer.dummy.ini is failed to be deleted, you should delete it manually.. if you need more help for me, I need your FTP access..
thank you
thanks dimas. required info is in PM.
Thank you..I forgot to mentioned, I also need your backend access as well..
Any progress?
oh you are still using old Joomla version, like I said before please you upgrade it as well.
that's not an option. jomsocial is advertised to work on j2.5, so i expect that to work. my site has tons of own components, modules, plugins and bridges, so a joomla upgrade will be a project for the xmas holidays.
I found one problem, and the reason why that dummy file didn't get deleted. if i use the updater to rund through a series of jomsocial upgrades, i keep comming though these URLs for each sub-upgrade:
.../administrator/index.php?option=com_community&view=installer&task=...
, but those files are served from cache, so it looks like it's doing something, but it isn't....
would be better to add a random parameter at the end of those URLs, which Is what I'll try manually now:
.../administrator/index.php?option=com_community&view=installer&task=...&dummy=gafsagsfsg
That's not what the pre-sales FAQ says. After reading this, I decided to buy and install the upgrade.
I just installed the iJoomla installer and went through the steps. If one upgrade isn't compatible with my Joomla version, I'd expect an intelligent installer NOT to even offer or try installing it...
And now I'm in a mess. Please help me up- or down-grade to whatever latest version does work on Joomla 2.5.
the config is a small custom switcher, which loads the real config file depending on the domain. this is important for my custom extensions to work, so i locked them for security reasons. i can change it for you - what would you like me to change in the configuration?
