Sometimes I think -what if my social network comes to a level of user registration I never expected

Of course I know akeeeba backup, using it after significant changes in site development every day. But how can I constantly backup my site since user registration keeps on going? I am getting more familiar with Linux Servers and of course my provider 1und1.de in Germany offers several server backup utilities. But things have to be make save before my site goes online. And yes there some responsibilities keeping user data save.

Let’s say I have reached 100,000 Users. Is it best to start immediately with amazon S3 cloud servers to have no limits in data storage? Should I start ride from the beginning with Amazon S3. My Server is limited to 500 GB. I have now problem increasing processor speed and memory limits up to a high level. Data storage is something different and there are tight limits.
What if I use data storage first to the full limit on my server? Can I switch over to Amazon S3 when I need more data storage space?

Thanks for any help.

JomSocial is an amazing component and customer support is simply the best I know. I just want to make shure thinks go well before the train is running.

HI, Peter.

You may switch to S3 storage at any moment. If you have configured cron job it will take small portion of existing user files (video, photos, covers and avatars to S3 every run. So after some time, step by step everything will be moved to Amazon S3.

You need to decide if you want to start with S3 right now or just watch if server disk space runs low. 500GB is a lot of space... lo tes say that it start decreasing fast (e.g 5-7 GB every day)... then with that speed of "eating" disk space, it will be better to start using S3 as soon as you can. But if members use 1GB each week... then you have some time ;)

Thank you for kind words - we always trying to do our best ;)
